What
to do when you are injured at work:
- Inform your Supervisor of injury
- Fill
out the First Aid Records Form that is kept at your work site.
- All
employees covered by WCB are to be in contact, with
Colleen Pasay at
453-4539. This needs to be done immediately following an injury
to ensure WCB filing is completed.
- This
contact is to be made regardless of whether or not your injury requires
you to be off work.
- See
your doctor, as necessary.
- If
covered by WCB, submit the Workers Report (available at your
location or Service
Centre) within 24 hours.
- If
not covered by WCB, please fill out a District Accident Report Form
AP 120(5) at the school and send a copy to Employee Health Services, Catholic
Education Services, within 72 hours.
- Please
Note: Prior to returning to work you must have clearance from
your physician and Employee
Health Services.
Non-compliance
with the above procedures may result in your claim being denied by WCB
and may affect future needs you may have arising out of the injury.
Who
is covered by WCB?
- All
custodial and maintenance staff
- All
support staff
- All
out of scope staff
- Principals
and other administrators while they are engaged in administrative
duties
- Teachers
who are in teaching CTS - Construction, Fabrication, Mechanics; Food
and Fashion

Principals/Supervisors please remember:
- That
an employee who has been away on WCB must
have clearance from Employee Health Services to return to the work
place regardless of the length of time away. This can be in the form of an e-mail, telephone call or Return
To Work Form.
- In
some cases you will also receive a "Return to Work Accommodations"
Form, which will indicate if an employee has any work restriction
or needs to work modified hours. You will also be informed when these
restrictions are lifted.
