Optional Service

Optional Service is employment with a public service organization in Canada and may count as optional service. Types of optional service may include previous employment, either temporary or permanent with current employer or another LAPP employer.

Reciprocal Agreement Transfers

There are a limited number of Reciprocal Agreement Transfer Agreements with other public bodies. For information regarding the provisions for transferring service between pension plans visit the LAPP web site www.lapp.ab.ca

Annual Pension Statements

Local Authorities Pension Plan will send a Contribution and Service Record Statement at the end of each reporting year. This statement shows service, contributions, interest and salary, and benefit employee could receive from the Local Authority Pension Plan for service up to the last reported year.

Members' Handbook

Pension benefits for staff who are eligible to participate in the Local Authorities Pension Plan are outlined in a separate publication entitled "Local Authorities Pension Plan - Members' Handbook". Employees have been provided with up-to-date books and the information can be found on LAPP web site www.lapp.ab.ca
